Yes, and the goal is to stop short of "bright." Layered lighting at 2700K reads as comfortable and lets you see faces, food, and steps without the harsh feel of a security flood.

Usually. Composite and wood decks both allow retrofit — we run wire through the framing from below. It's more involved than lighting a new build, but it's routine work for us.

Does everything run on one system?

How much maintenance does an LED system need?
